BJ Seminars International
An activity based program that uses practical skills and exercises adapted from the art of Tai Chi - a Chinese exercise, relaxation, meditation, philosophy (non-religious), and self defence system.
We take an active and entertaining approach and avoid the 'talking head' theory method that can bore students senseless.
The skills taught are transferable to any physical, emotional or psychological situation students experience at school and away from school.
These techniques have been used for centuries and are easy to learn and suitable for all fitness levels.
Each student also receives a handout with additional information.
The Workshop
Chris ... was booked to present his Thai Chi workshops as a part of our Year 10 "Future directions" camp this year. I saw this as a significant part of the camp in that it provided students with skills which would enhance their ability to be resilient as they pursued future goals. Chris was completely co-operative and professional as we liaised prior to the camp, which made it so easy for me in the busy time leading up to it. He arrived early and totally prepared. Chris ran three sessions on the day of about 45 minutes duration. Each group had about 30 students and teachers joined in. Chris' engaging style ensured all students were focused and really got the full benefit of the program. Both students and staff were very positive in their feedback after each session. Chris was generous with his time, staying behind after the sessions to chat with students. I was delighted with the success of the program and recommend Chris' work most highly. Thanks for your efforts yesterday - you did a great job covering all the year 10s in the one day, and the feedback from the kids has been very positive. The general feedback was that it was really enjoyable and they felt they got a lot out of it. At this age they have no qualms about being brutally honest, and I didn't hear anyone make a negative comment. The class that I have for English suggested we do some Tai Chi at the start of each class, and many said how relaxed it made them feel.
