Have you taken a good look at yourself lately?
If not, then perhaps it is time to take a look at the image you present of yourself in your business.
How can you do this?
Ask people you trust what they think of your business image. If their views are different from yours, then keep reading and we will show you three ways in which you can develop a professional image.
Values
Make sure your personal values reflect your business values. The best way of determining this is to examine the way you behave in business. Do you say and do what you really believe in? Or do you say or do whatever it takes to make a sale?
Professional
You should look, talk and think as a professional in your chosen business.
It doesn't matter whether your image is corporate, creative or zany; if you are a professional you will make more sales.
Your promotional material- business cards, website, flyers, signs, etc - should also look professional. Cheap, out of date, confusing materials are for business people who are heading for the exit door.
Consistent
You need to be consistent in the way you promote your image. If you are not, then potential clients will be confused and go elsewhere. If you are, then clients will know what to expect and this makes it easier for them to buy your product or service.
When your image is yelling out 'Look at me! Look at me!' make sure there is something worthwhile to look at. If there is then you will be successful.
