Just as an anthill bustles with busy ants running about, we can get caught up racing around about with the day to day tasks of managing a business.
Eagles, on the other hand, soar way above the anthill. They see the whole picture.
They see what’s going on in and immediately around the anthill, where new sources of food may be found, and whether there are any approaching threats etc. They see the whole map.
To ensure success in business we also must take time to soar like the eagles and use a MAP.
Make time.
Schedule regular planning time away from the anthill. Find a place and time where you will not be be interrupted by the telephone or other day-to-day tasks.
Ask yourself the following questions:
- What are the best things about the way my business is running at the moment?
- How can I improve on these to build my business further?
- Where can I see new opportunities?
- What current challenges must be faced or overcome?
- What steps should I put in place?
Plan
Decide what needs to be done, and break everything down into manageable steps. These may include researching and gathering information before implementing changes.
Write your plan and keep it where you can see it every day.
Make time to complete at least one task from your list each week.
If you soar with the eagles and MAP your business, then you’ll be successful.
