Cash flow is not important to a small business.
Sales are not important to a small business.
Clients are not important to a small business.
Now before you burn me at the stake for being a heretic please read on (and if I don't make any sense then you can put another log on the fire).
Now where was I? Ah yes.
Cash flow, sales, and clients are unimportant when you compare them with your health and wellbeing.
Usually prolonged high levels of stress contribute to poor health and if that is the case for you then you need to take action to reduce your stress.
Here are three tips on how you can do this.
Listen to the Voices
Listen to your body, mind and emotions. If they are saying ?I am NOT happy? over a period of time then you are probably stressed. All those voices can?t be wrong. Yes, I know you are indestructible. So was Superman until that little rock, Kryptonite, stressed him out.
Work Less
Yes. Yes. Yes. I know. 'You have to work long hours to get everything done.' 'You need to work hard to be successful.' 'You're a businessperson not a bludger.' Well, consider this. If you keep pushing yourself until you stress out, then you will be forced to work less and probably end up lying on a hospital bed thinking 'what happened!' It's your choice.
Play More
A time out is essential. Take an hour, a day, a week or a month off so you can play more. Kids do it so why can't you. Playtime is essential to re-energise and reflect on what really matters in life. And that is not cash flow, sales and clients. It's sticking around long enough to appreciate and enjoy your family and friends.
Yes, you can have it all, a healthy business and a healthy lifestyle if you take responsibility for your health.
